Match Play 2024
Live Singles Draw Live Scotch Foursomes
The MatchPlay Singles final was won by Eoin Boggans V Darren Redmond
In the Scotch Foursomes final Dave O'Driscoll & Noel Quinn beat Sean Egan & Billy Walsh
Scotch Foursomes:
- Both players in a team tee off Blue Tees , Choose preferred ball & Play alternate shots until completion of hole.
- All players in the match will individually calculate a Course Handicap (CH).
- Each Team takes 60% of the lower CH and 40% of the higher CH and adds them together, this is the pairs playing handicap.
- The full difference between the 2 teams handicaps will determine the number of shots given/received.
- Please note the new indices on the back 9 holes ! !
*******************************************************************
Singles Match Play:
- Play off Blue Tees: play off full Course Handicap on the day (laminated CH sheet is in Changing room and at reception). If player A has a 20 Course Handicap & Player B is an 18 CH, Player A would then get a shot on hole index 1 & Hole index 2. ( all other Holes would be off scratch).

We remind you to book well in advance to secure your booking on Sundays on both Howdidido and the BRS System. We are really committed to getting increased activity on Sunday’s. The more activity we get on Sundays will increase our capacity for change. Your feedback and suggestions are welcome.
• Fundraiser The tickets are flowing and thank you to everybody who has supported this event thus far. However there are still a number of tickets to be collected and sold. They are available at reception. It will take the form of a raffle and we will be asking all members to try and sell 4 tickets or indeed more. The raffle will be on presidents night (our only social of the year) . You will be hearing a lot about this event in the coming weeks and it is really important we get your support. I will be taking responsibility for coordinating this event and if anyone has any queries please don’t hesitate to contact me.
• Notice re 13th for New Members. Especially for the new members and in particular the longer hitters, The 13th is a par 4, for safety reasons your tee shot must not finish on or beyond the green (OOB) or it is a 3 off the tee. Please review the local rules on the back of the card.if you have any queries please ask any of the committee for assistance.
• The Committee have adopted Golf Irelands directives in that a member is not entitled to win the top prize on the captains and presidents day if they have not submitted 20 qualifying cards and have a full WHS Golf Handicap. The good news is however, that you will qualify to win one of the up to 20 other prizes on each day. To win a medal you must have 10 qualifying cards submitted and you still qualify to win all other prizes available on the day.
• There is a new Club website www.buttermountingolf.ie developed by the owners which will also assist us in centralising the messaging in time. If you have any suggestions for improvements the Ladies would love to hear from you
• Communication with Committee
If you have an issue or recommendation, we respectfully ask that you send a mail to buttermountaingolf@gmail.com and it will be addressed at or prior to the next committee meeting and responded to.
