25th Year Celebration Photos

On Saturday October 20th To Celebrate 25years of Dublin Mountain Golf Club we ran a shotgun start Scramble. A very strong field of 59 players took part in the event.
The Winners were Don Deans, Mick O'Brien & Noel Quinn with a team score of 60.4.

Another 10 pointer in the October medal secures a 2nd golfer of the Year title for Eoin Boggans. In the Nett section another steady year from 1st time winner Don Deans narrowly edges out Ciaran Colclough at the final hurdle.

Summer course back from today.Place Fairway only,Play as lies
in Rough,bunkers in play.Please treat all areas of damaged
bare ground as GUR until further notice.Track marks from course machinery & buggys where grass is laying down is not considered damage. Most trees on the course are un-staked so always check before proceeding under free drop rule ( a tree where the strap has snapped is still a staked tree)
Trees that have snapped are considered "material piled for removal" proceed under Rule 25.1

Barton Cup 2018, DM 2 V Hermitage 3

Sunday April 15th 1.30pm, V  Hermitage win on the 18th at DMGC.
Home Team, Julien Basset & Paddy Dent won their match, Andy Foot & Noel Murphy won 3&1. But Eoin Boggans & Brian Cruise lost on the 18th.
Away Team: Jimmy Graham, John Morgan, Michael O'leary, Gerry Brady.
Very good performance, but just edged out by a strong Hermitage team.

Brian Bannerman RIP

It is with great sadness that we announce the passing of Brian Bannerman.
Brian was a member of our club for over 20 years and served on various committees,
Always willing to offer a helping hand at the club.
He was a very competitive golfer right up to before he took ill at the end of 2017
and will be very sadly missed by his many friends at Dublin Mountain.
May he rest in Peace.

** Winter League 2018 - Final Results **

A very exciting final week.
Brian Cruise and the Broncos, J Morgan,P Best,D Deans,J Reid,B Campbell & W Reidy, won one match and as a result won the Winter league.
Eoin Boggans and the Bears won both their matches and made it to second place.
Tigers (Andy Foot & Co)  and Colts (Eamon Sexton & Co) ended up with the same points – but the Tigers had a better win in their head to head with Chargers and were placed third.

All Ireland 4 Ball 2-3 Loss to Rathfarnham

V Rathfarnham GC Sun 1/4/2018 at 11.10am
Conor Best & Don Deans won game 1 at DM on the 14th, Paddy Gallagher & Neville Morgan were just edged out on the 19th hole.  Peter Behan & Leo Mahon were beaten. A brilliant 3&1 win for Ger Cantwell & John Reid away. Dave O'Driscoll & Ger Perry took their game to the 15th.

Hoist the MainSail

The good Ship DMGC will attempt it's belated maiden voyage of March this weekend.
Blue tees to Chq Flags ( unless we have frost, in which case it will be orange Tees to White Flags)
Treat any areas of snow as casual water, free drop nearest point of relief, except on the left of 1st hole where you can use the nearest dropzone if your ball ends up in the snow drift or anywhere near the Net & not out of bounds.
This is the Final weekend of the Winter League

The Beast Part Ⅱ

Course stays closed Weds 21st/Thurs 22nd, inspection Friday 23rd to decide on weekends competitions.
A scroll back thru the archives shows we lost 7 weeks in the 2010/2011 snow event,
from Sat 27th of November 2010 to Sat 15th Jan 2011 and were finally back in play on that Sunday16th. We do not intend to break that record !

Course remains closed over St. Patrick's Weekend

The course will remain closed over the weekend Sat17th-Mon19th.
Final decision made by course management.
We are set to reopen for the Weds comp on the 21st.
Final weekend of winter League will now take place on Sat24th/Sun 25th.
Captain's Drive is now scheduled for April 28th, when we should have all main greens back and hopefully more favourable weather.

Course Remains Closed Mar14th/15th

Further inspection Friday 16th will determine weekend play.Check back at 5.30pm for course status.                **** We left the inspection for as long as possible today but Reluctantly the course will remain Closed Wednesday 14th/Thurs 15th, although almost 80% has now thawed, alot of the landing areas + certain greens are unplayable. Also course management do not want any insurance issues with the clubhouse and parking areas still very slippy.
